Is this London?! It’s Brewpub Wicks!

A fan of artisanal beers with authentic flavors? You’re going to love this one! It all happened a couple of weeks ago, during our first Night of the Museums in Lima..

It was the perfect opportunity to visit the Asociación Mario Testino, which normally charges a pretty heavy entrance fee for Lima standards of 30 Nuevos Soles and was completely free that evening. This museum houses world’s largest collection of Mario Testino’s photographs, at the same time it’s the only permanent exhibition of his work. The photos of celebrities, but certainly also the Alta Moda collection which features typical Peruvian clothing wrong by locals from various regions throughout Peru, are beautiful. There were quite some people visiting the museum as we did, but no lines, which made our total visit to the Asociación Mario Testino a short one.

That’s, when on the way back we passed by Wicks Brewpub, which is just a couple of blocks from the museum and five minutes later they serves us a delicious pint of Wicks Stout, which is creamy and not too heavy at the same time.

The menu features several sides, mains and some deserts as well. That day we decided to order some fries with an onion gravy dip, more deliciousness!

Brewpub Wicks looks like an authentic English pub, I would almost like to say that you’ve just stepped out of Barranco and entered London temporary when entering this gem! Hang around the bar for a pint and a chat or sit down at one of the larger tables or couches for a relaxing conversation. Before you know that first pint turns into a second, third.. hmm I probably shouldn’t say anything else!

The service is superb and the Wicks pint flavor changes on weekly bases, during our second visit it was the Ale, which turned out to be my favorite so far! A little spicy, but still smooth at the same time. Probably one of the best Ale’s I’ve tasted throughout Latin America! And that says something!
Before I forget, fish and chips are great as well! If you’ve spent a long time outside of the UK or just craving for some fish and chips while in Lima, Wicks is the place to go! To many more chops of Wicks, cheers!
